Hypertext markup language (HTML)


HTML - This is the predominant markup language for web pages. It provides a means to create structured documents by denoting structural semantics for text such as headings, paragraphs, lists etc as well as for links, quotes, and other items. It allows images and objects to be embedded and can be used to create interactive forms. It is written in the form of HTML elements consisting of "tags" surrounded by angle brackets within the web page content. It can include or can load scripts in the language of java script.

TEXT EDITOR - This is a type of programe used for editing plain text files.

VISUAL EDITOR - visual editors are editing programs which display the text being edited on the screen as it is being edited.

WEB EDITOR (DREAM WEAVER) - This is a program that allows you to create a website and upload it onto a server.



Internet services.


Worldwide web (WWW.) - Commonly known as the web is a system of interlinked hypertext documents contained on the internet. With a web browser that can include text, images, video and other multimedia.

Internet service providers (ISP) - This is a company that offers its customers access to the internet. The ISP connects to its customers using a data transmission technology appropriate for delivering Internet protocol paradigm.

uniform resource locator (URL) - This specifies where an identified resource is available and the mechanism for retrieving it.

Domain name - This is an identification label that defines a realm of administrative autonomy or control on the internet based on the domain name system.

Web hosting - A web hosting service is a type of internet hosting site that allows individuals and organizations, to make their own website accessible through the world wide web.

Internet.


Bulletin boards - A bulletin board is a place where people can leave public messages. Some bulletin boards on the internet are called message boards.

Discussion forums - This is an online discussion site. it originated from the bulletin board.

Weblogs - This is a blog which is a type of website usually maintained with diary entries, events, pictures or videos.

Web Conferencing - This is used to conduct live meetings or training or presentations via the web.

Multimedia messaging system.


MMS is a standard way to send messages that include multimedia content to and from mobile phones. The most popular use is to send photos.

Short messaging system (SMS)


SMS is a communication service component of the GSM mobile communication system using standardized communications protocols that allow the exchange of short text messages between mobile phone devices. SMS text messaging is the most widely used data application in the world with 2.4 billion active users.

Instant messaging.


Instant messaging (IM) is a form of real time direct based communication between two or more people using computers, mobile phone's or even some ipod's now have the correct applications for it. The user's text is conveyed over the internet. More advanced instant messaging now allows you to use live web chats including webcams and headsets.

email


electronic mail which is most commonly known as email is a method of exchanging digital messages.
Email systems are based on a store-and-forward model in which email server computers accept forward and deliver messages.
